Empire Style Mahogany Accent Table, a luxury reproduction piece echoing the
grand styles of 19th-century European courts.
Maitland-Smith is world-renowned for combining rare woods, complex
hand-inlaid veneer parquetry, and meticulous lost-wax metal castings.
Detailed Design Breakdown
The Tabletop: Features a highly detailed floral and
foliate satinwood marquetry inlay arranged in a wide running band. This is
set into deeply figured premium crotch mahogany veneers and bordered by a
raised, gilded egg-and-dart carved border.
The Pedestal: Supported by a heavy, central turned column
column wrapped in hand-carved, gilded acanthus leaves that anchor the
table's neoclassical silhouette.
The Base & Feet: Rests on a substantial tricorn
(three-sided) platform base decorated with layered veneers, terminating in
three beautifully sculpted, heavily carved giltwood lion's paw feet.
